I. Police
• AED purchase from LETF
Chief Korte reminded the committee that there was an ordinance for transfer to pay for the AED units for the cruisers.
• Power DMS and Accreditation changes
Chief Korte informed us that CALEA was now having two types of accreditation. There is a basic and advanced certifications, advanced is for departments over 75 officers. Conversations with CLEAS representatives and Sgt. McDaniel’s they believe Evendale should follow the basic guide lines. The committee agreed with his recommendation.
• Honor Guard
Rudy Hachey sent a letter expressing his appreciation for the participation of the honor guard in his return celebration from the honor flight for WWII veterans.
• Community Press Article
Chief Korte informed us of a correction in the report from the Tri-County Press concerning the discussion about people calling directly to the Police Dept for non emergency calls. We still encourage people to call 911 for emergencies.
II. Fire
• Hiring ordinance- Julie Smith
Chief Cruse reminded us of the hiring ordinance on the agenda for tonight’s meeting.
Chief Cruse also provided an overview of the house fire from 8/21/11 on Winnebego Trail.
